Application Requirements
Any person who is interested in lighting design, irrespective of age, nationality nor qualifications.
Number of applications. Only one per one applicant.
Application fee: free.
œ Items for Submission
Stage 1 Applications
One A2-sized file (do not fix on any boards or panels) Plus PDF format
EAn explanation of the design plans in one (1) A2 size sheet and in PDF format (less than 10 MB).
EThe explanation can include but not limited to plans (at any scale), perspectives, drawings, CG, model photographs etc.
EA design concept relating to the theme in Japanese (up to 150 character), or in English (up to 100 word), must be written.within this one (1) A2 size sheet.
Name of the PDF file shall be g application number.pdf g
EAll titles, explanations and vocabulary shall be limited to Japanese or English.
@Indicate applicantfs name, application number, title on the back of A2 size sheet, and on the CD-R of the pdf file.
Stage 2 Applications
Freestyle (a mock up or detailed drawings are required)
EPresentations shall be evaluated with a five minutes timeframe given.Language shall be in Japanese or in English.
EVideo presentations are allowed, in the case of attendance not being possible.

The applicants selected in the first jury shall have an opportunity to discuss about making mock ups for the final presentation. Please contact our secretariat for details.
-Questions relating to the theme cannot be responded to. Applicants are free to solve problems which are outside of the stipulations.
-Submitted articles shall only be those which have yet to be presented. Please refrain from submitting said articles to another design competition.
-Submitted articles cannot be returned. If necessary, please make duplicates or copies of each of these before submission.
-A notification will be sent to the selected applicants of the first jury.
An application by an applicant who has close connection (pupil, partner, staff of same company) with a jury will not be judged evaluated or commented by that jury

Submitted data remains the copyright property of applicants unless applicants are responsible for usufruct and publication rights whenever the submitted materials are used. However, when the JIA and Daiko need to use the submitted data for the purposes of and for announcements on the website- applicants shall give permission as a matter of course.

Personal information collected through applications will be viewed and used by the JIA and Daiko only for the purposes of undertaking this competition and its related events. Any details provided shall be managed appropriately and will not be made available to any third party.
