We are engaged in a wide range of activities, including fundraising and social support for social contributions.

Reconstruction support

Support for areas affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake

We would like to express our deepest condolences to those who lost their lives in the Noto Peninsula Earthquake of 2024, which occurred on January 1, 2024 , and our heartfelt sympathies to those affected by the disaster.

In order to help support those affected by the disaster, we have made a donation to the "Ishikawa Prefecture 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake Disaster Relief Fund" established by Ishikawa Prefecture.

We plan to continue working with government agencies and industry groups to provide the necessary support , depending on the situation in the affected areas.

We sincerely pray for the safety of everyone in the affected areas and for a speedy recovery.

Overseas Support

We cooperated with the non-profit organization Heart of Gold.

Daiko Electric continues to support "Heart of Gold," which operates an orphanage (New Child Care Center) in Cambodia.
The 12th study abroad program from NCCC to Japan, which had been postponed due to COVID-19, was realized in May 2023.
We received a letter from Sulai Mai, an international student.

In Cambodia, where 70% of the population still live in rural areas, children are often sacrificed due to poverty, so Hearts of Gold began providing educational support to children in orphanages in 2001.
Daiko Electric supports and cooperates with this activity.

*Donation funds are used to provide educational scholarships and living expenses for the poorest children in developing countries and are not given directly to children or their families.

Overseas Support

We made a donation in response to the Morocco earthquake and the Libyan floods.

We made a donation to the non-profit organization Doctors Without Borders to support those affected by the Moroccan earthquake and Libyan floods that occurred in September 2023.
In October, our director, Mori, visited Doctors Without Borders, spoke about their current activities, and received a letter of appreciation for our support.

CSR activities

Türkiye-Syria earthquake relief donations

Many people were affected by the Turkey-Syria earthquake that occurred on February 6th. We would like to express our sympathy to those affected and, in the hope of a speedy recovery, have made donations to the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey and the NPO Doctors Without Borders Japan.

One of our employees visited Doctors Without Borders at their office and presented them with a letter of appreciation.

Doctors Without Borders is a private, non-profit medical and humanitarian aid organization founded in France in 1971. It provides emergency medical assistance to people facing crises due to conflicts, natural disasters, poverty, and other factors from an independent, neutral and impartial standpoint. It also conducts "testimony" activities to raise awareness among society about the humanitarian crises it witnesses on the ground. In 1999, it was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of its activities.

Ukraine emergency aid donations

Currently, many people, including civilians, have been killed in Ukraine, and many people have been forced to flee both inside and outside the country, raising concerns about a serious humanitarian crisis.
Daiko Electric has made a donation through the Ukrainian Embassy.
We would like to express our heartfelt condolences to those who have been affected by this crisis and to all those who are suffering, and we pray that peaceful days will return to the people of Ukraine as soon as possible.

Received the Dark Blue Ribbon Medal

We have been awarded the Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon by the Japanese government.
This is in recognition of our donation of 10 million yen in medical support funds and medical equipment such as masks and protective clothing to Osaka Prefecture in 2020.
The award ceremony was held at the Osaka Prefectural Office on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, with President Kushima and Executive Director Mori in attendance, and the certificate of commendation was presented by Ms. Mutsuko Fujii, Director of the Health and Medical Affairs Department of Osaka Prefecture.

The Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon is one of Japan's honors. It was established in 1918 and is awarded to individuals and companies and other organizations that donate their private assets for the public good.

Overseas Support

NPO Heart of Gold

We provided some support for the "Construction of rainy weather sports facilities at Bassac Junior High School in Svay Rieng Province."

DAIKO has been supporting the activities of "Hearts of Gold" for 15 years.
"Hearts of Gold" is an NPO established with the aim of sharing hope and courage among Cambodian children through sports, beyond borders, races and disabilities.
This year, we received a report from Heart of Gold that a sports facility has been built at a school in Cambodia, so we would like to introduce it to you.

We received letters from three children who became Heart Parents (foster parents).

In Cambodia, where 70% of the population still live in rural areas, children are often sacrificed due to poverty, and Hearts of Gold has been providing support for the upbringing of children in orphanages since 2001. Here we introduce letters from three children who DAIKO became a Heart Parent (foster parent support) for.

Messages from Cambodian children

We made a donation to the Okinawa Prefecture Shuri Castle Fire Recovery and Reconstruction Support Fund.

A fire broke out in the early hours of Thursday, October 31, 2019, destroying a large part of Shuri Castle, a symbol of Okinawa's culture and traditions and a registered World Heritage Site. We understand that many people, including the people of Okinawa Prefecture, are heartbroken by this loss. We would like to express our heartfelt sympathy.
Hoping for the earliest possible restoration of Shuri Castle, we have decided to donate the following funds.

Overseas Support

Heart of Gold (Winter/Year-end Help "Love" Donation)

Yuko Arimori, a former marathon runner, supports Hearts of Gold, which provides support for the lives of people who lost their legs due to landmines in Cambodia and children suffering from poverty, and supports the organization every year.
In March 2007, through the Japan Foster Plan Association, we also supported the construction of a school building at Ban Haifai Elementary School in Nong Bua Lamphu Province, Thailand. In May 2008, we provided school supplies such as uniforms, school bags, shoes, and notebooks to the children at the school.

Messages from Cambodian children

New Child Care Center (NCCC) Development Project

In Cambodia, where 70% of the population still live in rural areas, children are often sacrificed due to poverty, and Hearts of Gold began supporting the upbringing of children in orphanages in 2001.
The current NCCC facility was built between 2007 and 2009, and many areas have deteriorated over the years. Repairs, renovations, and expansion work to suit the current situation are urgently needed, and we will do what we can to ensure that children can live safe and healthy lives.
DAIKO supports and cooperates with this activity.

Reconstruction support

We sent relief supplies to the Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake of 2018.

First flight: 9/6
Arrived in Sapporo first thing in the morning on September 6th and shipped to employees and customers. (Shipped from Ryogoku Building and KFC Building in Tokyo.)

2nd shipment: 9/10
Procure and ship items requested by employees and customers in the local area. (Vegetables, fruits, rice, etc. shipped from Osaka Head Office & Product Department and Aizuwakamatsu City.)

3rd shipment: 9/14
We procured and shipped items requested by locals to the "Atsuma Town evacuation center." We delivered relief supplies. (Sent by the Product Department.)

These were sent to the affected areas via the Japanese Red Cross Society.

Western Japan Heavy Rain Disaster Fundraiser "YEN"

The collected funds will be donated to support organizations that are working hard on reconstruction efforts, which YEN has carefully selected.
This time, YEN has chosen the nonprofit organization Peace Winds Japan as the recipient, as they were among the first to arrive on the scene and have decided to continue support activities until the end of 2018.

*The Western Japan Heavy Rain Disaster Relief Fundraiser Project "YEN" was started by Masamichi Katayama, an interior designer from Okayama Prefecture, and Makoto Tanijiri and Ai Yoshida, architects from Hiroshima Prefecture. "YEN" is a life-sized donation that anyone, anywhere can easily donate from just 100 yen to help the disaster-stricken areas.

Professor Shinya Yamanaka of Kyoto University, a Nobel Prize winner, runs the iPS Cell Research Institute with high ideals and overflowing passion.
We support his aims and make donations to the fund every year.
